Why do I keep coming back to this hill?

Not even a month has passed, and everything looks completely different from up here.

The view from the hilltop under a heavy grey sky: a carpet of autumn trees in yellow, orange, and green stretching toward the city and distant hills

This time it was even more special: no trail run, just a walk with my father and my little dog.

A wide forest path covered in fallen copper leaves, beside a tall beech trunk marked with a red and white trail sign, under golden foliage

A small black dog in an orange harness standing on a path covered in fallen leaves, looking back, with tall beech trees behind

Let’s head back down. The last two months of the year ahead are going to be intense.
